Officially, as I write we are heading into the final week before Christmas. The last seven days of planning and while we may not be partying this year, hopefully, you’ll be feeling festive and full of cheer, (as much as we can just now). These last few days can also be a huge rush for last-minute gift items, stocking fillers, fun and unexpected add-on items. Little gifts for local neighbours and members of the community around us. Perhaps you want to say thanks to someone who did you a good turn this year. Especially during these times, when we are requested to stay local to our homes. Familiar faces may have become even more familiar at our local shops. Or, you want to recognise the restaurant owner who has become crucial to the fabric of your community.
At Solo Living, we have sought to put together a little list of mindings conveying a simple appreciation as well as being a great last-minute gift or stocking filler for our friends and loved ones- or maybe even for you.
These Bonsai Kits could be great to share with a friend or neighbour as you grow them together and share news and tips.
As would this herb kit, where all of your neighbours could receive one or a few of each herb and then possibly share the harvests throughout the year.
A fun stocking filler, with added winter weather protection against the cold, is this Gin and Tonic Lip Balm for the gin fans that you know.
And as we are encouraged to exercise more outside, this Runners Kit can be great for supporting sustained running (or walking!) with hand warmers and energy support.
Another great stocking filler for communal coffees outside is this Bamboo reusable coffee cup, where you can meet for chats with neighbours close by.
And as this year comes to a close, these books on various destinations we have been unable to visit this year, may inspire travel planning for 2021 and beyond – with some suggestions focusing on visual images from the year of 2020 – providing a moment of reflection during this momentous time for humanity.

Finally, on a cheery cheese note, this cheese board will not arrive in time For The Love of Christmas Gift-Giving holiday timeframe. However, as it is a lovely and beautiful piece of wood, I wanted to include it because you never know when Birthdays start to pop up throughout the year! 😉
Phew, 12 weeks have passed incredibly quickly. I have noticed time this year seems to have accelerated and decelerated in unusual ways.
I hope you have found some small inspirations through our For The Love of Christmas Gift-Giving Series and our Solo Living musings each week.Â
I also hope you receive some beautiful gifts and enjoy a lovely time over the festive season. It won’t be as planned, but I hope, it will be just as special in different ways.
Wishing you all the best for 2021.
